About
SMASH 2026 is our second annual invitation-based academic symposium bringing together ~150 researchers and professionals for two days of keynotes, panels, peer-reviewed paper presentations, poster sessions, and discussion.
Designed to be small, unamplified, and highly interactive, SMASH is a workshop, not a stage. Attendees are researchers and practitioners working through complex questions together in a space where they can speak openly, challenge ideas, change their minds, disagree respectfully, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
Our guiding principles for this annual event continue to be:
- Partnership over competition
- Common ground over differences
- Practicality over hyperbole
- Questions over answers
- Nuance over platitudes
